What is Ube?

Ube is a purple yam that is native to the Philippines and is widely used in Filipino cuisine. It is known for its sweet, nutty flavor and vibrant purple color, which makes it a popular choice for use in desserts and baked goods.

Ube has a long history in the Philippines, where it has been grown and cultivated for centuries. It is an important part of the country's culinary tradition, and is often used to make dishes such as ube halaya, a sweet, purplish-colored jam made from boiled and mashed ube.

In recent years, ube has gained popularity around the world, particularly in the United States, where it has become a trend in food and beverage products. It is often used to flavor ice cream, pastries, and other sweets, and can be found in a variety of products in markets and specialty stores. Despite its increasing popularity, ube remains an integral part of Filipino culture and cuisine, and is an important part of the country's food heritage.

What does EMME's Ube fragrance smell like?

EMME's Ube smells like a baked dessert cooling on the rack, fresh out of the oven. Our Ube leads with familiar gourmand notes like vanilla bean, before developing into something totally unique with the balance of its starchy ingredients, sago and the Ube root itself. It's cozy, delicious, and perfect for Ube connoisseurs and first timers alike!

If you're a fan of wood wick candles, you know that they can bring a cozy, warm atmosphere to any room. But in order to get the most out of your wood wick candle, it's important to properly care for it. Here are a few tips for keeping your wood wick candle burning bright:

-Trim the wick: Before lighting your wood wick candle, be sure to trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This will help prevent the flame from becoming too large and will ensure that your candle burns evenly.

-Burn for at least an hour: The first time you light your wood wick candle, be sure to burn it for at least an hour. This will allow the wax to melt all the way to the edge of the jar, which will prevent tunnelling (when the wax only melts down the center of the candle).

-Keep the wax pool clear: As your wood wick candle burns, be sure to keep the wax pool clear of any debris, such as wick trimmings or matches. This will help the candle burn smoothly and will prevent the flame from becoming obstructed.

-Don't burn for too long: While it's important to burn your wood wick candle for at least an hour at a time, you don't want to burn it for too long. A good rule of thumb is to burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. This will help prevent the wax from overheating and will extend the life of your candle.

-Store properly: When you're not using your wood wick candle, be sure to store it in a cool, dry place. This will help prevent the wax from melting and will keep your candle in good condition.

By following these tips, you can enjoy your wood wick candle for longer and create a warm, inviting atmosphere in your home. Happy candle burning!

Ube – Candle Tin

My favorite scent so far!

I bought the jar for myself and the tin as a gift for a friend. The ube is popular FOR A REASON. It makes my living room smell like a bakery.

Sweet and Decadent

This scent is very similar to a lot of vanilla scents out there, but to be clear, it's much much better. The Ube candle has that decadent smell of baked goods fresh out of the oven but finishes with a note that is uniquely recognized by those who are all too familiar with Ube's incredible flavor. This candle is calming and has found a place in my evening routine before bed.

Great smell, just not very ube-y

If you’re looking for that starchy ube scent, I would say don’t get this one. It smells more like vanilla :( I think this business is amazing though and the candle was high quality, so I’d definitely buy again! Just a diff candle.
